Mother's Day


Do we really need a Mother's Day?
If you ask me I will say 'NO'.

For me each and every day is a bliss. Seeing my baby growing up surrounding me, reaching out to me  more and more with more understanding and love, I think that is the very very special feeling I get to experience everyday. So when everyday is so beautiful, why do I need any special day? Rather I am thankful for my babies for making me a mother, every moment of which I cherish so dearly.

But since, we have a special day dedicated to all mothers, so I wish all mothers a very very happy Mothers day. Mothers does not necessarily mean a biological one. The term 'Mother' is so so BIG. It essentially means 'nurturers'. So if you are a human's mom, or a dog mom, cat mom or anyone who nurtures, please take my big hug, on this special day.

If you are an art aficionado, then you must visit Bengal. And while in Bengal if you are a saree aficionado you must visit Shantipur. The tant sarees of Shantipur have made the place a prominent hotspot on the handloom map of India.  After the partition of India, many weavers came from Dhaka of Bangladesh and started to reside here in Phulia region, which is a Panchayat area of Santipur. Since ancient times, Shantipur and the surrounding region has been famous for handloom saris (saree). The handloom weaving style unique to this region are famously known as Santipuri Sari (tant).
